Admissions Policy
Students wishing to join the College are required to do an academic assessment. This assessment gives us an indication of whether the student will be able cope with the standard and volume of work expected upon entering the College. It also serves as an indication that students have acquired the necessary basic skills to enter Ridgeway College in the relevant Grade. Applicants are expected to be fluent in English in order to cope with English as the instruction medium.
Admission Procedure
- Application form to be completed and submitted to the office together with a certified copy of the applicants birth certificate, last school report and application fee of R150
- An appointment should be made to bring the child for an entrance test, which will take approximately 2 hours.
- Students who successfully pass the entrance test, will be invited for an interview with the head and final admission will then be confirmed.
- Together with a letter of acceptance, successful applicants will receive a copy of the school handbook, with details of dress code, and school policies.
- Parents are expected to complete and return the contract of enrolment together with the desk fee in order to finalise the application and secure the child's space. No student will be allowed into class until the contract has been received.
Boarding
Whilst the College currently has a limited boarding facility for some of our students, we are in the planning process of building a hostel on our premises. It is envisaged that this will be ready by January 2012.
