ACCOUNTING AWARDS

Local auditing firm Nel, Havinga and Corbett recently visited our school t present awards to our top accounting students 
and also those who showed the most improvement.  The aim of the awards is to encourage interest in accounting
as well as to motivate students to improve the quality of accounting in South Africa. 
The top achievers were:
Grade 9 Sana Sithole
Grade 10 Dede Bessong
Grade 11 Ayesha Chayya
Grade 12 Tendani Mukhiti
The most improved awards went to:
Grade 9 Tendani Muloiwa and Nyeleti Khobane
Grade 10 Emmatjie Msindzu and Ria Takalani
Grade 11 Medlinah Mugiyo and Lusanda Thathaisa
Grade 12 Zayna Aboo and Thendo Luvhengo

TENNIS LEAGUE

Our tennis team played against Mitchell House on Thursday 12th September in a league match.
Congratulations to our girls team for winning 25 – 15.  Our boys team lost their match 21-20

 

BASKETBALL MATCH

Our boys basketball team played a match against Mitchell House on Thursday 12th September winning 34 – 16.  Well done!

SOCCER MATCH

Our soccer boys played a match against Greenway on Thursday 12th September narrowly losing their match with a score of 8-5.

PRELIM EXAMS

Our Grade 12 students finished writing their prelim exams on the 11th September.  They will receive their results on Friday
with the rest of the students.

MATRIC FAREWELL

The Matric Farewell took place on Friday 13th September.  Thank you for the Grade 11 students and their class teachers
for a lovely function.  Our matric students looked lovely and the evening was enjoyed by all who attended.

IEB ENGLISH ORAL MODERATION

The external moderator came to our school today to moderate our Grade 12 IEB English Orals.

IEB CLUSTER MEETING

Our IEB teachers are attending a cluster meeting in Polokwane this afternoon and as a result school closed at 12:30

IEB LIFE SCIENCE PRACTICAL EXAM

Our Grade 12 Life Science Practical exam will take place on Wednesday 18th September.  This is a final examination 
and all students must be present.

EARLY CLOSURE

Due to the fact that a large number of students and teachers will be going on the trip to St. Peter’s, we will be finishing school
at 12:30 on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th September.  Please make the necessary transport arrangements.

FAREWELL FOR MR. WELLS

A reminder that we will have a final assembly for Mr. Wells on Thursday 19th September at 09:00.  Parents are
welcome to attend to say their farewells.

SUBJECT CHOICES

The Grade 9 students received a letter lats week regarding their subject choices for next year. 
Please complete the form and return by tomorrow as they are already overdue.

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL

A reminder that parents are required to give a terms written notice of withdrawal or will be held liable for a terms fees 
in lieu of notice.  Please make sure that we received your written notice by Friday if your child will not be returning to Ridgeway
next year. 

ST PETERS SPORTS FESTIVAL

Our Netball, Soccer and Basketball teams will be participating in the St. Peter’s sports tournament from Thursday,
19th September to Sunday 22nd September.  If you have not yet submitted an indemnity form, please make sure we have it
by tomorrow.

HOSTEL

Please note that the hostel will be closed from 16:00 Friday 20th September until 13:00 on Monday 7th October.  The hostel 
will accommodate the students going to St. Peters on Sunday 22nd September but students must be fetched by 10:00 on 
Monday 23rd.  The Hostel will also accommodate the Form 5 AS students who will be coming in on Monday 30th September
to write their exams that week.

SCHOOL CLOSES

School closes at 10:00 Friday 20th September to the 8th of October.  Reports will be handed out on that day.  Please make
sure all accounts are up to date.
