The hostel invited an HR consultant on Monday the 28th of October to come and talk to the hostel students
about HR as a career choice. Students were very engaged and asked a lot of questions. Thank you to Mr. Clack
for organizing this.
The IEB students started their exam today Wednesday the 30th of October and finish on Friday the 22nd of November.
The AS students will be finished with their exams on the 15th of November.
MATRIC FAREWELL PHOTOGRAPHS
The matric farewell photographs have been received. It any of the matric students have not collected their photo’s yet,
they can do so at the office.
Tomorrow Thursday the 31st of October will be the last athletic practice for students this term. Students are encouraged
to remain fit during the holidays as the athletics seasons kicks off in the first week of the new academic year.
Annual photographs have been received and handed out to students on Tuesday the 29th of October.
Our annual mountain challenge will take place on Saturday the 2nd of November. The students will overnight at
Harnham House. Individual letters were sent out earlier this week with more details.
The Honours evening will take place on Friday the 15th of November at 18:00 in the school hall. It is compulsory for all
students to attend. Students must be dressed in their formal dress, ie black long pants/skirt and white collared shirt. Girls
may only wear flat shoes, no high heels are allowed. We look forward to all our parents attending to share in the students
Internal exams start on Wednesday the 13th of November to Friday the 29th of November. Students should already start
preparing for these exams.
All text books should be handed in on the day that a student writes the last exam for that subject. Parents are responsible
for the replacement cost of lost or damaged books. Please make sure all books are returned in good condition.
We are fast approaching the end of the year. Just a reminder that December is our financial year end and all accounts are
expected to be settled by the 4th of December. Please make sure that all fees are received on time. No reports will be handed out
to students with outstanding fees.
GRADE 8 SHOE BOX PROJECT
The Grade 8 students will once again be putting together gift boxes for the less fortunate. They are asking for donations
of soap, face cloths, toothbrushes, roll of deodorant, toilet paper, body lotion, nail brushes and sweets. They also still need
some empty shoe boxes to package the gifts in. If you are able to assist, please send your donation to the office.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
The last day of school for students will be on the 29th of November. Students will write their final exam. There will
then be a final assembly at 10:00, after which the students will be done for the year.
Reports will be ready for collection on Friday the 6th of December from 09:00-12:00.
FIELD TRIPS 2020
Just a reminder that the Grade 8,9 and 10 annual field trips will take place in the first term. If you would like to start
saving now for the trips, estimated costs are as follows:
Grade 8 – Lapalala Wilderness +/- R2000
Grade 9 – Johannesburg +/- R3300
Grade 10 – Durban +/- R4500

We are busy finalizing the year planner for 2020 and will forward this to you in due course. In the meantime, term dates
are as follows:
