Where every day is an adventure

Ridgeway College's ECD Centre is an early childhood development programme in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo, catering for children from Grade RRR to Grade R (ages 3–6). In these foundational years, your child's physical and emotional wellbeing comes first: our ECD Centre is a place where children feel safe, seen and ready to explore.

Through play, story, music and exploration, our youngest learners develop the social, emotional and pre-academic skills that set them up to thrive, not just in the Preparatory School, but throughout their lives.

Our Approach

How we teach at our ECD Centre

01

Play-based learning

Children learn through structured play, exploration and stories, building skills that go far beyond the classroom.

02

School readiness

Early literacy, numeracy and the social routines that prepare every child for a confident start to Grade 1.

03

Safe & nurturing

Small groups, warm educators and a secure environment where every child feels seen and cared for.

04

Qualified educators

05

Individual attention

Building blocks

What they learn

Our ECD Curriculum centres on eight key areas, ensuring a comprehensive foundation aligned with Department of Education guidelines.

Creative arts

Drawing, crafts and imaginative play that spark self-expression and build confidence through making and creating.

Physical development

Gross and fine motor skills developed through movement, outdoor play and active exploration of the environment.

Social & emotional

Building relationships, empathy and emotional wellbeing so every child feels secure, seen and ready to engage.

Cognitive & perceptual

Thinking, reasoning and sensory development fostered through curiosity, investigation and structured discovery.

Music & movement

Rhythm, song and coordinated movement that build confidence, coordination and a joy of self-expression through the body.

Life skills & school readiness

Everyday independence, routines and habits that give every child a confident, settled start when they move to Grade 1.
